President's Report

Hello Twin Cities NACE – Happy Monday!

I would like to start off by sharing what a great week we had with our first IN PERSON meeting since March of this year. Seeing all of you who were able to join us was such a needed and welcomed evening. While the meeting was a very different style from what I am used to, I am so proud of the work done by our NACE Board of Directors and the staff at the Minnesota Humanities Center for the exceptional job done to ensure safety and guest and staff comfort during the night.

The meeting was quite a different style from what I am used to, (Thank you Covid-19 restrictions.) I am so proud of the work done by our NACE Board of Directors and the staff at the Minnesota Humanities Center for the exceptional job done to balance safety, and comfort for our attendees and staff during the night.

We are working hard to lay out the rest of 2020 with in person meetings to help to guide and showcase what our communities and creative partners are doing to modify and lead events during Covid-19. Please see the list of dates below for upcoming Twin Cities NACE for the rest of 2020:

Update on Membership from NACE National

When the first impacts of the Covid-19 pandemic hit the catering and events industry, NACE moved quickly to support members. The National Board has enacted several resources and measures to maintain our strong, vibrant community. We expanded the membership grace period to 120 days, introduced flexible installment plans, expanded online education, and more.

And now, in partnership with the Foundation of NACE, the National Board is pleased to introduce a Membership Support Program. This program helps members experiencing financial hardship stay connected to the NACE community and all the resources and support NACE offers. NACE is your community and we are stronger together.

Who Can Enroll?

Members in a qualifying category with a renewal date of February 2020 or beyond who are experiencing financial hardship are eligible to enroll. Those who enroll in this program are also eligible for payment plans. If you have already renewed, you can still take advantage of this program and add an additional 12 months to your membership.

And, thanks to the Foundation of NACE, this program will also provide financial support to our chapters by ensuring the dues rebate program stays intact. This generous investment by the Foundation will help provide support to our vibrant chapter network.

How to Enroll

If you would like to enroll in the membership support program, please contact the national office at [email protected], via chat at or by phone at 410-290-5410.

Connecting with Twin Cities NACE: I know that many of us have been furloughed from our positions and have not had access to our work emails where the chapter emails are sent. If you are currently unable to access your work email, the steps are below to update your account information:

1.      On the homepage, click on the lock icon in the top right corner

2.      Login with your NACE credentials

3.      Click “My Account Info” on the left hand tool bar

5.      Hit SAVE!

I hope that we continue to welcome back our NACE family in the coming months as you are able to join us for monthly events. This is such a strong community that learns and grows together. I know things have been dark and challenging, but I love that NACE allows us to come together to understand and learn on each other. See you in September!

My best,

Lindsay Frank
